The girls took turns and worked together this summer to help break heifers for County Show in September. In between camps and vacations. They got them pretty well broke. Thank you to the Blake and Burt families for getting them here to help! They also scrapped panels, scooped alleys and sweat a lot! We appreciate you! :)

We started with five and broke four. We turned one out we probably should have kept but she will make a great cow! This one we sure like and she was a challenge but she has turned out well. A WCS Lonestar sired baby. We sure are happy with them and him!

Congratulations to Paizlee Oxtoby. She showed OXO Bricktown Buttercup sired by TLC/TLCC Turks Bricktown and her Shorthorn Heifer. Buttercup won her division.

We invited another intern to our home and ranch in July 2022. This makes the fourth one we've hosted as intern at Thorne Ranch. Robert Onley from Australia was the first one and he became and still is a part of our family. We keep in contact with, Kyle Robinson from Florida and Patric Paul Jr. from Texas. They were great to have around and they never complained and we hope we were a positive impact on their lives and learning.

Saying So Long to "The Legend Turk"
Turk graced the show rings in 2007-2008 as Show Bull of the year 2008-2009 - Show Sire of Year 2010 and 2011. Turks great disposition and predictable ability to produce beautiful udders on his daughters and very fertile son's will be carried on by his 135 progeny produced here at Thorne Ranch and several other herds including Diamonds In the Rough of Oologah, OK our partners. He spent his entire life here except when he was being hauled and promoted by Mike Runner and the Diamonds family. He was born in 2006 as an ET Calf. We knew he was set to be something special the day he was born. He was born 50 yards from where we laid him to rest in October of 2021.
- One of his key features was his movement that every judge that ever saw him in the show ring said, " He was the freest moving animal they had seen all day." He was very sound, square and natural muscle expression. Thick and pretty fronted. We kept several son's TCL Turks Rex who is dual registered Maine and Simmental. TLC/TLCC Brer Rabbit who is dual registered Maine and Beefbuilder Braunvieh. We also have grandson's, TCL Barts Bandit and TCL One Good Dude doing a bang up job improving our herd every breeding.
- Semen is very limited. We have semen on son, TLC/TLCC Brer Rabbit available for Sale.
